Moon Age An analog orchestra of electric harpsichords, Moog synthesizers, Mellotrons, twangy guitars, soft girl vocals and celestial harmonies create a haunting, ethereal mood. Melinda and Hunter Lea (Mono In VCF) were joined in the studio by drummer Mark Pickerel (Screaming Trees, Truly), harmony singers Suzi Jane Hokom (Lee Hazlewood, International Submarine Band) and Wendell Ratliff along with percussionist Rick King, heavily utilizing Hal Blaine’s (The Wrecking Crew) vintage tambourines and shakers. Their debut album,  Distant Horizons,  is a synthesis of psychedelia, dream pop, orchestral baroque pop, 1960s soundtracks, kraut-rock and spaghetti western music. It was recorded at Uptone Recorders in Tacoma, WA/Timeless Studios in Los Angeles and mixed by Brian Kehew (Air, The Moog Cookbook).

Mono In VCF Combining psychedelic pop, soul, new wave, 1960s soundtracks and trip hop, Mono In VCF created a dark and moody sound. The band received heavy rotation on Seattle’s KEXP radio station, supported Jarvis Cocker live. The song “Masha” was featured as NPR’s song of the day. Their 2008 self-titled debut album was co-produced by Martin Feveyear (Mark Lanegan, Brandi Carlile) and Hunter Lea, it features arrangements and vocal performances by Terry Jacks (The Poppy Family, “Seasons in the Sun”).   The album was critically well received and commercially disappointing. Over the years it has gained a small but dedicated cult following around the world, specifically Greece, France and Canada.

The Low Humbles Inspired by 1960s orchestrated soft pop studio productions, breezy folk rock and the British invasion, The Low Humbles began as an Andrew Sandoval (Monkees, Bee Gees, Come to the Sunshine) solo album but something different came together. Andrew and producer Hunter Lea began writing songs together and decided to form a group… The Low Humbles! The pair would write songs in the morning at Sunrise Beach in Gig Harbor, Washingon then head to Uptone Recorders in Tacoma in the afternoon to cut the tracks with fellow Low Humbles, Rick King (playing some of Hal Blaine’s percussions) and Jeff Noyes on drums. The lush harmonies of Kevin Poleski (The Cloves) and Shayne Weeks (Make-Up Monsters, Oberhofer) helped achieve the 1960s inspired magic pop feel. Their debut album, A New Design for You, was released on vinyl in 2016 and the band played a mini tour, opening for 1960s pop icons Chad and Jeremy on their farewell tour.

Cloud Cashes Till A studio group featuring the songs and music of Hunter Lea with the lush dreamy wall of harmonies by Wendell Ratliff, Kevin Poleski and Shayne Weeks. Psychedelic folk rock looking to the future, while trying to capture the spirit of 1967-68 recording studio experimentation.
